Broke.

School is in full swing and I have been busy, not studying, but spending my hard-borrowed cash.  Things I have purchased or spent money on within the past few weeks:

  • Second City performance, South Side of Heaven - sooooo funny and full of talented comedians/actors/actresses/improv performers!
  • This adorable Ann Taylor skirt that I bought in an effort to have a more adult wardrobe.  I’m hoping it can double as both business and casual attire.  Plus, I got it for half off… How could I say no?
  • A used iPod shuffle so that I can workout without having a mammoth iPod dinosaur in my palm.
  • A yoga mat from Marshall’s, since I’ve started getting my ohm on.  This hilarious video inspired me to even try kombucha with a friend.  Side note: wikipedia what “kombucha” is so that you can see what a “mother colony” is.  SO GROSS!  But the drink itself is surprisingly good.
  • The big purchase: a spring break trip to Miami with one of my BFFs.  She being in med school and I in pharmacy school, we’re a little hard-up on the fun and overloaded on the stress.  So we thought we deserved to spend a little to take a vacation to a tropical paradise, away from all this cold.  Who knew that loan money could be synonymous with vacation money?  I guess we’re only young and foolish once!
  • To balance out all the good, here’s a little of the sad: A microbiology flashcard set from Amazon, to deal with the sadness that is anti-microbial pharmacology.  However, it was the perfect excuse for me to start my trial period of Amazon Student Prime, so I suppose it ain’t all bad.

You can see what my semester looks like already…
